Q: Is the SLR Performance Chip a Universal performance chip?
A: No, Every SLR chip is built and tuned specifically for each make, model and engine size for each vehicle. At SLR Motorsports we build every SLR chip to work for each model of vehicle and then we tune each performance chip for the different engines that each model of vehicle has. We then compile the tuning software for each engine onto the chip produced for your model of vehicle. When your SLR chip is connected to your vehicle, the chip communicates with your ECU to determine what ECU part number your vehicle has. In return, the SLR chip automatically utilizes the tuning software for your EXACT engine. SLR Motorsports is the only company to use this special software that recognizes your exact engine size for your model of vehicle.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: SLR Motorsports accepts Credit cards, debit cards, Paypal, Electronic checks, personal checks, certified bank checks, cashier checks and money orders. Payments received by Credit cards, debit cards, paypal ship immediately. Personal checks will be held until the payment clears, then your package will be shipped and your tracking information will be emailed to you.
Q: Will the SLR Motorsports Performance Chip void my vehicle's warranty?
A: NO! This is the best reason to add the SLR Motorsports Performance Chip to your vehicle! Most performance products will void your warranty, however the SLR Performance Chip will NOT void or negatively impact your vehicles warranties.
Q: Does the SLR chip still work on my vehicle if I have no modifications at all?
A: Yes, the Horsepower, torque and fuel mileage gains listed on our website is if you have no prior modifications at all. If you do have modifications, you will notice better gains than what we list on our website!
Q: Will the SLR Motorsports performance chip work with my existing modifications?
A: Yes, Our chip will work even better with your existing performance modifications. The SLR chip even works great if you currently have a performance chip installed!
Q: My vehicle is Turbo/Supercharged will the chip work?
A: No, we build our chips strictly for engines not equipped with a turbo or supercharger. We can build a custom chip for specific turbo/supercharged vehicles, please contact us for more info. Our custom chips for Turbo/Supercharged vehicles are built for specific timing, boost and other modifications.
Q: If I buy more than one item, will you combine shipping?
A: Yes, we combine shipping for an unlimited number of items purchased. We offer 3 types of shipping, our standard rate, expedited shipping and next day air. For example, if you purchase 5,10 or even 50 or more chips from us, we will ship them at the price you decide either standard, expedited or next day air.
Q: If I purchase my chip today, how long does it take for me to receive my package?
A: We ship the same day we receive your payment. Shipping typically takes 2-5 business days to receive depending on your order. If you purchase your chip on the sunday, your order will be packaged and shipped first thing Monday morning. Orders received before 6PM EST Monday-Saturday will ship the same day.
Q: Do you ship to Canada or to International Destinations?
A: No, due to the customs requirements we only ship within the USA at this time.

A: No, the SLR chip will not work with diesel engines at this time.
Q: How long does the installation typically take?
A: Installation typically takes 5-10 minutes depending on your skill level. The installation is simple, if you can start your car, you can install the SLR chip! The installation is a plug and play install. Once you install the SLR chip, the chip will automatically start to finely tune your vehicle in the first few minutes.
Q: Do I have to use Premium fuel with the SLR Performance chip?
A: No, Every SLR chip comes pre-tuned exactly for your model of vehicle. During the tuning process we include tunes for 87, 88, 89, 91 and 93 octanes. The SLR chip will communicate back and forth with your oxygen sensors, then when the SLR chip receives signals from your oxygen sensors, the chip will automatically adjust.
Q: Will the SLR Performance Chip cause any damage to my engine or transmission?
A: No, the SLR chip is 100% safe to use. The SLR chip only adjusts based on the information received from your computer system. Only the SLR Motorsports Performance Products utilize this fail-proof system to avoid costly engine repairs. The SLR chip will constantly adjust to help your engine run smoother and more efficiently!
Q: After I Install the SLR chip, does the chip leave any traces or footprints on the computer?
A: No, the SLR chip leaves no trace that it was ever connected. Every SLR chip contains software that does not allow the computer of your vehicle to record that the SLR chip is connected.
Q: How difficult is the SLR chip to install on my vehicle?
A: The installation process is plug and play! You simply plug the SLR chip in and go!

A: Yes, we do offer bulk discounts. You will need to contact us to discuss pricing for bulk orders.

Q: I live in a high-altitude area, will your chip still give me increased horsepower?
A: The SLR performance chip will work great in high altitude areas or areas where the air is thin. The SLR chip gives your vehicle improved tuning through the entire RPM range to help with improved throttle response and horsepower in high altitude areas. You will definitely notice the difference!
Q: My vehicle has the factory MDS (Multi Displacement System) will the SLR chip still work?
A: Yes, The SLR chip works great on factory installed multi displacement systems. The SLR chip contains the software to recognize this system and still make the necessary adjustments without causing any problems for your vehicle.
